Summary:
The Supply Chain Specialist, Canned Seafood manages unlabeled canned inventory from point of supply chain entry to label completion. Monitors grading, planning, pending contracts, and customer approvals to ensure ready supply of labelled goods are positioned to support customer sales. Manages labeled inventory and maintains safety stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages unlabeled canned inventory from point of supply chain entry to completion. Contributes to evolution of procedure related to essential function.
- Evaluates need for and Initiates Canned label orders, based on grading, planning, sampling results, pending contracts and or instruction from salespeople.
- Maintains knowledge of sales order, in-transit processes inside and outside ERP system.
- Maintains knowledge of company expectations, sales procedures, purchasing procedures, export documentation requirements, contract issuance guidelines.
- Coordinates customer sampling program, collects inspection status result and applies to on hand materials in the course of label order planning.
- Facilitates timely order preparation and shipment to meet required delivery dates.
- Creates and reviews reports to inform and trigger forward inventory movement and label order creation.
- Manages product standard exceptions, monitors warehouse follow-up, executes resulting adjustments to inventory.
- Provides direction for creation of stock transfers, sales orders.
- Acts as key contact for Salmon Terminals warehouse and labelling facility, a third-party sub-contractor.
- Ensures that month-end closings are timely and accurate.
- Monitors and collects product grading data provided by specified industry and customer stakeholders.
- Collaborates with warehouse, category manager, salespeople, FSQA, planning, production facilities, logistics and management to produce desired outcomes.
- Reconciles outside warehouses, performs research and resolution. Review and approval of monthly storage and labelling service invoices.
- Uses critical thinking and communication skills to expedite solutions among various parties involved in related Sales and Inventory system processes, Traffic systems and processes.
- Acts as coordinator when label updates occur, ensuring that contributors have completed review and approval processes.
- Initiates Purchase Orders for labels, sleeves, trays and other packaging, as required for finished goods production.
- Oversees inventory of packaging components.
- Fields contacts from external and internal customers, salespeople, buyers, warehouses, carriers. Problem solves as necessary to research, resolve and address concerns.
- Contributes to organized file system, supports paperless information retention.
- Participates in coverage for and training of other team members as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized individual, able to drive timely and adequate supply availability while providing stakeholder updates.
- Fluency in SAP a plus.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills required.
- Agility in adjusting to evolving business objectives required.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure and meet deadlines amid competing demands.
- Strong customer service skills required, with ability to clearly and efficiently coordinate with internal and external service providers.
