Description
Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will operate, repair and maintain a variety of machinery and mechanical equipment including engines, motors, pneumatic and conveyor systems, gears, hydraulics and other machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Level I:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance according to schedule and direction.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and applying precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery..
- Uses hand and power tools in a safe manner.
- Learns and follows all safety procedures and Trident Protocols.
Level II: Responsibilities of Level I plus:
- Performs regular inspections of key components and operations, notifies supervisors of issues or deviation from procedures.
- Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examining parts for defects and root cause analysis.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains rolling stock equipment.
- Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
Level III: Responsibilities of Level I and II plus:
- May supervise a small team or shift.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machinery as needed.
- Possesses skill set of a machinist and fleet technician.
Additional Responsibilities (all levels):
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Level III – A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
