Summary: Trident is pleased to offer an opportunity for Accounting/Finance students to build real world professional experience. Interns will support the financial management of Trident’s fishing and processing operations while building resume worthy skills. Our Interns, based in Trident Seafoods' Support Center in Seattle, WA, will deliver focused improvement projects focused on our upcoming SAP transition, improving our Capital Approval process, building robust planning models, and/or other similar initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Learn the everyday financial cadence of Trident’s operations.
- Master key software and modeling that may include Power BI, SharePoint, Access, Teams, MS Approvals. MS Power Automate, Qlik Reporting, or other applications required to complete assigned project.
- Partner with Trident managers to gather information related to assigned project.
- Plan, execute, and present assigned project to Trident Finance and Accounting leaders.
- Supports Trident’s testing of the SAP S4 Hana platform.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Experience / Education:
- Minimum Junior level standing at an accredited four-year educational institution.
- Pursuing a degree in accounting/finance/economics is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Teams, and Word. Working knowledge of Power BI, Access, SharePoint, and/or SAP S4 Hana is a distinct advantage
- Prior work experience. Experience in food production, fisheries, or other manufacturing is an advantage.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Mental Activities:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use decision making skills, creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis. The employee will occasionally use interpersonal skills and team work. The employee will regularly speak and read English and use customer service skills.
