TRAINING MANAGER

Summary:
The Production Training Manager is responsible for implementing, delivering and tracking Trident Seafoods training programs for AK shore plants and vessels with a particular focus on LEAN method. This position will also provide general supervision for production workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a trainer, communicates information clearly and facilitates learning by diverse audiences using approved company training programs and methods, such as 5-down and TWOW.
- Assists with implementation and/or delivery of other training programs as requested and directed.
- Coordinates annual training schedules and sets compliance goals. Tracks and communicates compliance, following up when gaps in training occur.
- Teaches training methods and skills to instructors and supervisors as directed. Oversees the quality and delivery of training conducted by on-site trainers. Uses principles of coaching to provide feedback and skill development opportunities to employees delivering training.
- Assists with maintenance of training records in Learning Management System.
- Provides direct supervision of employees in the production areas as needed, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
- Adjusts work schedules as needed to meet production requirements.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Escalates performance issues to appropriate personnel.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
Lean experience and experience in production or manufacturing required, experience in AK seafood processing industry preferred. Prior experience in training and development or teaching desirable.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with employees with diverse backgrounds in person, and/or through correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The employee should be adept at E-mail and Internet software, word processing software, spreadsheet software, and presentation software. Ability to set up audiovisual equipment for presentations is required. Multiple language skills highly desired.
