The Financial Project Manager responsibilities include tracking progress, preparing reports for other members of the company, and ensuring the project remains within the budget.  This position will be located remotely with 50% travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees financial decision support to assigned project(s) to ensure sound financial and operational decisions
  • Uses analytical techniques and metrics to identify and make recommendations to improve operational performance and lower unit costs. Leads team members in the implementation of process improvements related to manufacturing costs, periodic reporting, and improved analytical tools
  • Provides finance leadership for Lean Manufacturing initiatives at the individual operation level
  • Instills strong cost control and planning discipline to assist management in controlling manufacturing costs
  • Leads the monthly forecast process for the assigned project(s)
  • Assists assigned business units with capital planning, including calculating and evaluating financial payback, for all capital expenditure proposals. Trains assigned staff on the analysis and preparation of financial inputs to capital spending requests
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the project(s) accounting systems and records, as well as strict compliance to all company policies, procedures, and controls to include monthly review of team prepared balance sheet reconciliations
  • Exhibits necessary ERP system proficiency (SAP experience strongly preferred)
  • Leverages available systems to enhance data access, analytical information, and management reporting

Minimum Requirements




  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Finance positions required
  • 7+ years’ food industry experience preferred
  • ERP Experience required in a standard costing environment, SAP experience preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks


  • B.A. in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Masters in Finance, Accounting, or an MBA preferred.


  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including SharePoint and Teams
  • MS Power BI development experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and senior management of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and apply related concepts to practical situations, i.e. fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.
