Summary: The CAD Technician is an integral team member supporting Trident’s mission. The Technician will report to the Project Manager and support team members by providing time-definite CAD-rendered products by interpreting information obtained from specs, sketches, customer explanations, and instructions provided by others.


Key Responsibilities:

• Meets with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
• Inputs design specifications into the CAD software.
• Works with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
• Reviews CAD models with the client and making minor adjustments.
• Creates final model rendering and delivers the final product.
• Maintains organization of project drawing files.
• Prepares and edits plans, profiles, sections, and details from rough sketches, redline mark-ups, and verbal instructions from team members.
• Completes drawings and project responsibilities within timeline.
• Assists in the preparation of engineering plans, designs, specifications, and standards.
• Assists in the preparation of engineering studies to support specific program objectives.
• Documents research for system compliance requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of project cost estimates.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 

 

Experience:
• Proficiency in BlueBeam REVU
• One to two years’ of AutoCAD Experience

 

Education/Certifications:
• High School graduate and or Drafting degree or certificate from technical college or trade school is preferred.

 

Skills / Qualifications:
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).
• Mathematical skills and calculation skills are required.
• Able to read and comprehend architectural drawings and schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, workshop facilitation, and the ability to build long lasting relationships with team members.
• Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
• Forward looking with a holistic approach.
• Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
• A team player with a strong work ethic that offers exceptional interpersonal skills, proven work ethic and follow through.

• Will be required to work on plant and operation sites.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand English, and utilize teamwork skills. The employee is frequently required to speak English, and use decision making skills. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training and supervision skills. The employee will be occasionally required to read and write English, perform basic math, use exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.

 

This is an Hourly – Non-Exempt position with an hourly rate of: $27.00 per hour

Employees will also receive 3.08 hours paid vacation and the greater of 2.16 hours of paid sick time per two-week pay period or 1.00 hour per 40 hours worked and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year, along with paid parental leave.
