OFFICE CLERK-LFS

LFS, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods.  LFS has locations in Bellingham, Seattle and Poulsbo, WA and Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, Sitka, Naknek and Dillingham, AK.

Job Summary: Responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties in an office setting. Assists other team members by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  • Answer phones and greet clients warmly; reroute calls to appropriate people.
  • Great customer service – give positive first impression of company.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Answer inquiries about company.
  • Help organize office activities.
  • Schedule meetings and restock office supplies.
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers.
  • Assist other administrative staff with overflow work, including word processing, data entry and research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A

Special Training/Skills (Language):

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Special Training/Skills (Math):

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Special Training/Skills (Computer):

To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand, and talk to hear.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and must regularly use customer service skills.  The employee will frequently use interpersonal and teamwork skills.  The employee must occasionally use decision making skills, creativity, discretion, training; perform problem analysis, and exercise independent judgment.
