STOCK ROOM CLERK - L48

JOB DESCRIPTION: Receives stores and dispenses stock room inventory in production plant. This position must be able to work both second and third shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Receives, opens and unpacks cartons and crates of parts, tools and merchandise.
  • Takes inventories and identifies items that need to be reordered.
  • Sign out and sign back in tools using the proper procedures and paperwork.
  • Dispense parts and merchandise using the proper procedures and paperwork.
  • Cleans and maintains stock room inventory in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Must be capable of following English written, oral, and visual directions with sufficient skill to perform all common duties, specific duties, common physical demands, safety procedures, emergency evacuation procedures, and supervisory instructions.
  • Able to periodically lift heavy items (50lbs) as necessary
  • Must be capable of walking and standing for long hours, walking safely through narrow passages, ascending or descending steep ramps, and walking on uneven, wet, and/or slippery surfaces.
  • Must be able to climb or descend one or more set of steep stairs or vertical ladders both inside and outside in all weather conditions and in at temperatures ranging from normal room temperature to 30 degrees below zero F.
  • Must assist all other employees, managers, supervisors, leads, engineers, technicians, administrators, etc. as directed by your Coordinator at any time in the performance of their respective duties.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all other employees to accomplish all assigned tasks/projects, common duties, specific duties, common physical demands, safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Adhere to all Trident policies, good manufacturing procedures, safety policies, bunkhouse rules, employee handbook, and all posted or verbal instructions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  2. May participate and train with HazMat team.
  3. Must submit, receive and close out requisitions and work orders for the Maintenance department.

Experience:

Basic mechanical knowledge in food industry preferred.

Education:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; and able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to operate a variety of hand tools to include the following: welding machines, cutting torches, and power tools including but not limited to: pipe or tube cutters, power drills, power saws, pullers, wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, ratchets, grinders, pry bars, hammers, punches, measuring devices, and chisels.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also be able to work 13 hour shifts regularly with occasional extended shifts not to exceed 18 hours.

Mental Activities:

While performing duties of this job the employee will frequently engage in teamwork. The use of office equipment such as copier, scanner, and computer is necessary. The employee will occasionally be required to use interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as problem analysis. The employee will occasionally need to speak and read English.
