NAKNEK MARINE CENTER / SEASONAL POSITION

This job runs from approx. 05/01-07/31. Room, board, and flight to and from Naknek provided. The job requires you to work at least 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, at our multi-use facility. (Retail store/boatyard/bunkhouse facility) Alaska overtime rules apply; you will be paid time and a half for hours worked over 8 per day and over 40 per week.

Job SummaryCleans rooms and halls throughout the processing facility by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  1. Cleans storage rooms, bathrooms, offices, corridors, processing areas, and stairways.
  2. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
  3. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  4. Dusts furniture.
  5. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork
  6. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  7. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
  8. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  9. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  10. Replaces light bulbs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk to hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
