LFS, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods.  LFS has locations in Bellingham, Seattle and Poulsbo, WA and Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, Sitka, Naknek and Dillingham, AK.

Job Summary: Sells products to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions

  1. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet web sites, and other sources.
  2. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  3. Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  4. Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  5. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  6. Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  7. Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  8. Tracks stock levels.
  9. Coordinates customer training.
  10. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  11. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  12. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  13. Attends trade shows.
  14. Suggests new products and inventory levels to purchasing.
  15. Helps accounting with collecting past due accounts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.  In addition, must have experience with inventory and POS software systems. Knowledge of commercial fishing industry and products a plus.

Work Environment:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Mental Activities:       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and must regularly use customer service skills.  The employee will frequently use interpersonal and teamwork skills.  The employee must occasionally use decision making skills, creativity, discretion, training and supervision skills; perform problem analysis, and exercise independent judgment.
