Job Summary: Looking for a retail sales clerk to represent our business and to sell merchandise to customers by performing the following duties.

We are looking for employees with commercial and/or recreational fishing knowledge as well as boat part and accessory knowledge.

Weekend shifts are required.

Job Summary: Looking for a retail sales clerk to represent our business and to sell merchandise to customers by performing the following duties. This is a Seasonal Position.

Essential Functions

  1. Must have customer service skills with the ability to interact with customers in person and over the phone.
  2. Previous experience with a point of sale program or cash register is helpful.
  3. Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
  4. Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
  5. Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.
  6. Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
  7. Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  8. Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.
  9. Accepts payment and makes change.
  10. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
  11. Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.
  12. Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift.
  13. Calculates sales discount to determine price.
  14. Standing up to 6 hours at a time.
  15. Ensure excellent retail experience for customer.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear, to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-40 pounds.

Mental Activities:       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and must regularly use customer service skills.  The employee will frequently use interpersonal and teamwork skills.  The employee must occasionally use decision making skills, creativity, discretion, training and supervision skills; perform problem analysis, and exercise independent judgment.
