LFS, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods.  LFS has locations in Bellingham, Seattle and Poulsbo, WA and Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, Sitka, Naknek and Dillingham, AK.

Job Summary: Manages the sale, installation and service of hydraulic systems, steering systems and equipment by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions

  1. Confers with customers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
  2. Develops, presents, or responds to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
  3. Recommends improved materials or machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.
  4. Provides technical and non-technical support and services to clients regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.
  5. Customizes, installs and assembles hydraulic units, parts and motors to meet customer specifications and system requirements.
  6. Inspects hydraulic lines and components to detect leaks, damage, and wear.
  7. Disassembles hydraulic system and removes and replaces defective actuator, pump bearings, pump motor or accumulator.
  8. Replaces worn or damaged hydraulic components such as oil lines, fittings, cylinders, servo-valves, pressure release valves, gaskets, and seals.
  9. Observes operation of hydraulic system to verify proper installation and/or repair.
  10. Supports other LFS Divisions hydraulic sales by providing suggestions as to inventory levels.
  11. Combination of technical and trouble shooting skills is crucial.
  12. Familiarity with Parker products.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment for work being performed; understand job hazards and which PPE is required.
  2. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


Technical school certificate; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to  moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Mental Activities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use teamwork skills.  The employee is frequently required to use decision making skills.
