Summary:  The Sanitation Lead keeps the working areas and equipment in the processing facility clean and sanitary for production. This position works in a leadership capacity to oversee the labor of the sanitation team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Gives directions to the sanitation crew on which equipment or area to be cleaned, and in what manner.
  • Coordinates with maintenance personnel and other sanitation crews in the dismantling of production lines and equipment in preparation for cleaning.
  • Disassembles and reassembles the production lines and equipment as necessary for cleaning.
  • Cleans the floors of all debris and rinses thoroughly.
  • Cleans air lines and hoses that feed the lines.
  • Sanitizes production equipment in preparation for maintenance and production set-up crews.
  • Cleans chemical room, process floor, dry goods area, restrooms, and other work areas.
  • Cleans wash buckets, trash cans, handrails, and other equipment assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Generates sanitation reports, daily, weekly, and monthly according to Sanitation Master Plan and routes reports to designated plant personnel and vendors.
  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance on preoperational inspections.
  • Prepares and titrates chemicals needed to clean the production lines.
  • Monitors sanitation PPE daily.
  • Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, pest control and sanitation trends and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in manufacturing sanitation
  • A minimum of 6 months of sanitation experience
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1 year of experience in food production sanitation
  • 1 year of experience in a leadership position.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

  • regularly up to 10 pounds

  • occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
