Summary: The Domestic Freight Audit Coordinator —Traffic role is responsible for ensuring timely payments of vendor invoices by maintaining or entering accurate records and preserving documents for incoming and outgoing goods.


Key Responsibilities

  • Audits and reconciles freight bills to ensure payments to carriers are approved timely and correctly
  • Prepares and organizes source documents via email; identifies and interprets data to be entered
  • Provides carriers with updates on their statements and recent payments using SAP
  • Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen and enters necessary codes
  • Compares data entered with source documents, or reenters data in verification format on screen to detect errors, makes corrections as necessary
  • Ensures carrier payments are compliant with current contractual agreements, including the identification and resolution of any freight bill rate and accessorial charge variances
  • Assists with resolving billing discrepancies with carriers
  • Verifies accuracy of source documents, including Proof of delivery, lumper receipts and invoices
  • Maintains a continuous improvement mindset with respect to the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the freight audit and payment functions and related internal controls, resulting in increased accuracy and a decreased risk of fraud and errors.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
  • Performs additional or similar duties as directed

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $25 to $27.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to a year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Knowledge of accounting programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of E2open or other Traffic Management Systems would be a plus
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to meet milestones
  • Efficient multitasker
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with the willingness and ability to identify process improvements
  • Self-motived able to work with little supervision
