Summary: The Production Planner II will be responsible for managing the short-term production plans and long-term capacity assessment across all value-added plants for Trident Seafoods’ domestic business.

  • Develop production plans over a rolling 3-month horizon to deliver superior customer service while managing inventory levels.
  • Review Capacity to Demand ratio over a rolling 12-month horizon to drive plant efficiency while delivering inventory goals.
  • Schedule and lead weekly cross functional production planning and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings
  • Own Production planning metrics: Schedule Adherence and Capacity Utilization
  • Collaborate with plants weekly to ensure we optimize schedules based on customer/SKU priorities, raw material (RM) availability and safety stock goals
  • Proactively review future risk (to service or utilization) and communicate with Commercial and Operational leads.
  • Schedule and participate in monthly Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) meetings – clearly communicate utilization and inventory build over the horizon.
  • Propose stepwise improvements to existing processes
  • Call out and propose solutions when identifying material requirements planning (MRP) discrepancies

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $90k to $115k.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • A minimum of three years of experience working in a consumer packaged goods industry in production planning, material planning, and/or S&OP
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mathematics, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office products
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience working in Supply Planning tools (SAP/Oracle etc.)
  • Power-pivot skills
  • APICS or Six Sigma certification

Work environment:

This job takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting, and has moderate noise.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
