Summary: The Housekeeping Foreperson I play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall quality of housekeeping operations within the organization. This position combines leadership, supervision, and hands-on work to ensure that all areas are impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for employees and guests at Trident facilities.

  • Leads and oversees a team of housekeeping staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Ensures efficient task allocation and maintains high standards of cleanliness.
  • Conducts regular inspections to ensure that rooms and common areas meet established cleanliness and presentation standards. Address any deficiencies promptly.
  • Monitors and manages the inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities. Orders supplies as needed, keeping costs within budget.
  • Trains new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Provides ongoing coaching and support for continuous improvement.
  • Addresses inquiries from Trident staff and guests regarding concerns, and special requests in a courteous and efficient manner, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Enforces safety regulations and best practices to minimize workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment for the team.
  • Maintains records of housekeeping activities, including inventory, cleaning schedules, and staff performance. Generates regular reports for management.
  • Assists in budget management by monitoring expenses related to housekeeping operations and recommending cost-saving measures where appropriate.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers and ability to use Office 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).

Preferred education and experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Work environment (includes travel/on-call): The work environment of a housekeeper is variable. You will work in Trident facilities, such as the bunkhouse, office, breakrooms, and other designated buildings as directed. Housekeepers work full time typically 12 hours per day, and seven (7) days per week, working weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. This job works a rotational schedule and requires travel to Trident facilities.

Physical demands:

  • The role of a bunkhouse foreperson often involves long hours, and physically demanding tasks. You should have the stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, carry heavy objects and supplies, such as furniture, cleaning equipment, and supplies, as needed for maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  • You should be able to move around the bunkhouse facility easily and navigate different areas, including stairs, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
  • Clear verbal communication skills are important to effectively convey instructions and coordinate tasks with other team members.
  • On occasion, this position may require use of basic hand tools, maintenance equipment, and cleaning supplies. This includes skills like using wrenches, power drills, and other tools as required for repairs and maintenance.
