Summary:  The Plant Manager will report to the VP, Value Added Plants and is responsible for directing and coordinating production activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. A high focus on Continuous Improvement (CI) activity is a key responsibility of the position. This position is located in Carrollton, GA but occasional travel to other plants may be needed.

This position leads a team of approximately 9 direct reports overseeing approximately 300 employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs all activities related to operations and production in accordance with Global Supply Chain’s business plan and the strategic goals of the Company and business units.
  • Assumes full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, analyzing financial data, and implementing strategies to optimize profitability and achieve budgetary goals.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including procurement, logistics, and engineering to optimize supply chain management and streamline production workflows.
  • Sets strategic goals and vision for the site as well as short and long-term plant goals.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, deliver organizational safety goals, implement, and adhere to Trident Safety Program
  • Directs and manages the overall production plan for the operation, including supervising the day-to-day operations that come with implementation.
  • Collaborates with functional area managers on the determination of materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs as well as the development and implementation of processes, procedures, assignment and execution of functional responsibilities, and determination of budget and costs constraints.
  • Evaluates performance against production goals and adjusts the allocation of resources (e.g., personnel, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize quality and quantity of production and cost-efficiency of operations.
  • Initiates and ensures execution of Continuous Improvement activities in pursuit of Trident Global Supply Chain goals and objectives. This includes TPS implementation, SCUBA initiatives, other Operational Excellence activities as well as acting as a liaison between OpEx Team and plant improvement teams.
  • Manages direct reports, assigns work to staff, provides coaching and training, sets goals, is accountable for performance evaluation, plans staff development, and makes and approves people management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience running a large-scale production/manufacturing facility with total P&L responsibility.
  • Prior Continuous Improvement (CI) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Proven track record of successfully driving process improvement initiatives and achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Just-in-Time (JIT) methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the Seafood Industry/Industrial Food Processing
  • Batter and Breading Production Experience
