SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates local area computer network activities by ensuring the smooth running of Wintel, network and storage system environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
  • Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security; and trains users on software and equipment usage.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
  • Develops and communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data.
  • Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.
  • Consults with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Researches new processes for system improvement and growth and suggests implementation strategies.
  • Installs and tests software upgrades.
  • Collects and analyzes network and memory utilization.
  • Upgrades and applies OS Service Packs and Hotfixes.
  • Responds to system alerts.
  • Participates in periodic disaster recovery testing and annual audits.
  • Consults with IT Services Manager, Applications Manager and staff, and ERP Support Team as necessary.
  • Researches new processes for system improvement and growth, and suggests implementation strategies.
  • Manages and monitors all system X servers and a disaster backup and recovery system.
  • Travels to Alaska, Georgia, Washington and other Trident locations system as necessary.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE

At least six years' experience in network administration

  • Palo Alto Firewall and Palo Alto Panorama Management support.

  • SQL Server DB Adminsitration
  • Citrix Administration.
  • Patch Management Administration

CERTIFICATIONS

Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Windows Server Administration; Virtual Server Administration.
