Job Summary: 

As a Project Manager you will support Trident’s project steering committee, lead Trident’s project implementation team and coordinate with the projects support vendor’s (Infor and Advoco) professional team through the full project life-cycle of our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) project. From detailed design and validation, Infor software configuration and integration, maintenance, repairs and operating supply inventory management process and physical re-design, automated maintenance management program implementation, system and process installation, testing, training, go live and stabilization.  You will be the leader of the project effort, and you are ultimately responsible for all planning, execution, risk management, communications, project budget and financial controls across a broad range of stakeholders.

The role is responsible for managing the initiatives associated with the design and implementation of the EAM System (Infor software and related inventory and maintenance management processes and controls).  The initiatives will include technical and non-technical deliverables. This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of the solutions, process change, governance and standards while managing scope, timeline, risks, issues and decisions.

This position will play a leadership role by managing the EAM project focused on process and productivity improvement throughout our global operational network. You will be responsible for executing an overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project steering committee, implementation team and key stakeholders. You will be responsible for working to improve project management processes to support decision makers.

The role will work with our vendor partners (Infor and Advoco) to ensure that all project control monitoring systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrate project performance data is reviewed with the project steering committee and implementation team.

This position will make a meaningful, hands-on contribution to the analysis, design and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with the steering committee and implementation team to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.

The current project timeline is 24 months.  Following completion of the EAM project, this position will transition to a leadership role associated with the continued improvement of the Trident maintenance and spare parts program.

 

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports: Directly to the EAM Steering Committee on project related items and to the VP of Operational Excellence.
  • Supervise: Trident project team’s located at various business operations at Trident
  • Works within continuous improvement project team

Essential Functions:

  • The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the completion of assigned project activities and milestones according to schedule, budget and within quality standards while maintaining good partner, customer and vendor relationships in accordance with Trident Seafood’s Core Values.
  • Monitor, enforce and maintain job safety for the project by supporting and participating in all safety programs, ensuring all team members are using required safety equipment and continually monitoring the job site to ensure safety requirements are met in accordance with Trident Seafoods safety polices.
  • Monitor, review and control project costs to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established goals.
  • Provide project status and financial updates to the project steering committee on a regular basis.  Report significant deviations from the budget to the project on a timely basis.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators in conjunction with the team to monitor and measure project results and effectiveness.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage project planning and scheduling to ensure that deliverables are consistent with the required scope of the project.
  • Manage our vendor partners (Infor and Advoco) as needed, to ensure their work is being performed according to the schedule, budget and set expectations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project team members on assigned activities to optimize team effectiveness.
  • Communicate directly with members of the Trident steering committee and with the stakeholders at each respective operation during their specific implementation period, concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of physical inventories and other site preparation activities prior to and throughout implementation.
  • Perform project administration duties that include managing billing, consultant and supplier payments, and optimizing opportunities for waste and cash management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ project or program management.
  • EAM experience with several full cycle implementations.  Infor experience a plus.
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries e.g. fishing, seafood / food manufacturing a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory management, procurement, asset maintenance program, transportation and warehousing processes focused on Alaskan operations a plus.

Education:

  • BA/BS in engineering/supply chain management or applicable industry experience
  • Project Management certification (PMI) and demonstrated core project management skills.
  • Problem Solving and Improvement certifications or continuous education. Courses in Six Sigma, Lean, Risk Management, Problem Solving a plus.

Required:

  • Proven track record for successful delivery of projects.
  • Will be required to work on plant and operation sites.
  • Travel could exceed 75% during the project.
  • Must be flexible in diving into project detail when necessary, while keeping the overall picture in mind.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and communicate successfully with people at all levels of management; exhibit excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, ability to work independently, and be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Control costs and manage a budget
