Summary: Trident is seeking a Payroll Specialist - this individual will compile payroll data to maintain payroll records by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

  1. Bi-weekly processing of payroll utilizing Ceridian Dayforce in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
  2. Processing off-cycle payrolls to accommodate payouts based on state requirements for terminated employees.
  3. Auditing the worked and time off hours from the Time feature within Dayforce.
  4. Auditing and importing payroll deductions received from the various work locations.
  5. Auditing the on-line submission of W-4 and direct deposit information.
  6. Process garnishments, child support and levies
  7. Prepare imports for payments received from various work locations.
  8. Verify retroactive payment calculations.
  9. Assist with year-end reporting.
  10. Process benefit deduction adjustments.
  11. Knowledge of payroll tax laws in a multi-state environment.
  12. Update process documentation and closely follow procedures and policies.
  13. Prepare system reports to distribute to various work locations.
  14. Responds to inquiries from employees, management and external customers.
  15. Maintains an exceptional level of customer service and responsiveness.
  16. Assist with the testing of Dayforce system releases, upgrades and other changes.
  17. Excellent organizational skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  18. Ability to take the initiative on tasks, prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.
  19. Must be detail oriented, accurate, and capable of working independently while maintaining a team player attitude.
  20. Ability to utilize various computer software programs including Excel, Word and Outlook. Must have experience using computerized payroll and/or accounting systems.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Assists with special projects related to payroll.
  2. Remains current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll rules, regulations and best practices.
  3. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 

Education:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with high volume payroll processing and working in an office environment
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and office software programs.
