The Division Manager, Vessel Power and Propulsion has oversight of the maintenance, repair and operation of all power and propulsion generating machinery on Trident Vessels.  They will partner with Vessel Management and Port Engineers to assess current and ongoing needs in order to ensure seamless power and propulsion (P&P) generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains master list of all P&P assets on Trident Vessels as well as maintenance plans and schedules for each. 
  • Works with Port Engineers and Vessel Management Teams to ensure repair and maintenance is done timely and according to schedule.
  • Establishes and oversees regular inspection cadence and makes recommendations based on outcome.
  • Oversees monitoring of P&P generation maintenance, repair, engine hours and deficiencies and ensures transparent reporting to Management.  
  • Facilitates vendor and contractor research and RFP’s as needed for repairs and capital projects.
  • Oversees vendor and contractor work to ensure value and quality of work.
  • Ensures P&P generation overhauls, repair and maintenance is carried out according to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with regulatory agencies to confirm compliance with required programs, and ensures permits are current.
  • Participates in Capital Project planning as needed to determine scope, budget timelines and serves as a subject matter expert.
  • Partners with appropriate personnel to ensure all safety processes and protocols are established and maintained.
  • Investigates machinery failures to determine cause and advises chiefs on remediation.
  • Partners with Port Engineers and Vessel Management to establish budgets and schedules.
  • Works with Port Engineers and Vessel Management Teams to provide fuel monitoring.
  • Works with Port Engineers and Vessel Management Teams to facilitate average fuel and load reports.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Travels to multiple locations as required and with short notice.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements



  • AA degree, Technical College Certificate or related certificate program.
  • BA Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Working knowledge and experience with the operation, maintenance and overhaul schedules for engine, power generation, distribution and control systems.    
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience with power generation, maintenance and support.
  • Experience working with engine power generation and Propulsion EAM and various control systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and performance requirements to restore equipment to proper operation.
  • Experienced with diagnostics and repair of all types engines, drive systems, Hydraulic, power generation to include controls, distribution, all types of generators.
  • Proficient in MS office suite and ability to design power and propulsion maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing capital projects within an established budget
