The Maintenance Excellence Leader will be a key player supporting the Global Supply Chain Team. The Maintenance Excellence Leader will develop and deploy a maintenance strategy across all operations to reduce equipment downtime, reduce maintenance costs, and build maintenance excellence skills and capabilities.  This position will be located in Seattle, Washington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy the Maintenance Excellence strategy and TPM pillar roadmap across all operations.
  • Develop and implement standard Maintenance Excellence KPI’s such as cost and performance across all operations.
  • Establish and deploy the Maintenance Excellence Pillar across all facilities.
  • Develop best in class strategy for Storeroom processes
  • Ensure standardization and proper utilization of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Utilize EAM system to reduce inventory and maintenance costs.
  • Develop processes to maintain optimal inventory of critical spare parts.
  • Execute and continuously improve the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to improve maintenance efficiencies, improve equipment uptime and reduce costs.
  • Develop and execute strategies to eliminate equipment failures and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Utilize reliability tools such as Pareto analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Centered Maintenance, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to optimize equipment utilization.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to maintain equipment in optimal condition, maximize line productivity, and reduce maintenance cost.
  • Optimize time and costs required for preventative maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, streamline processes, and leverage resources in order to improve cost structure.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and training of Maintenance Excellence Pillar and reliability concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Deploy strategies in reliability that build maintenance and technician capabilities.
  • Build operator capability to establish and maintain equipment.
  • Effectively collaborate and build strong relationships with production, maintenance and technical teams.
  • Be continuously connected to the operations sites, be aware of Best Practices and drive the Best Practice sharing.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operating efficiencies through utilization of lean methodologies. 
  • Utilize visual factory concepts to improve asset utilization and plant performance.
  • Partners with other TPM pillars to support the Operational Excellence program.

Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related Technical field.
  • Lean or Six Sigma  preferred.


  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience leading Maintenance Excellence TPM pillar.
  • Food industry experience preferred.
  • JD Edwards or SAP experience preferred.
  • Infor (EAM) experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of employees and senior management of the organization.

Work Environment:

Varied- from loud, wet factory environments, requiring the use of PPE, to offices and conference rooms.

Extensive travel, including international travel, and travel to remote locations is required at times (appx 50%). 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Work in factories requires the ability to climb stairs, ladders, walk significant distances (200 meters).

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use independent judgment, discretion and decision making.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use creativity, training, supervision and mentoring skills as well as problem analysis skills. The employee will  use interpersonal skills and team work. The employee will regularly speak, read, write and understand English, and use customer service skills.
