Description

 

The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Practitioner will develop and implement productivity improvement, loss elimination initiatives, and the pillars of TPM.  Pillars include: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Continuous Skills Development (CSD), Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Focused Improvement (FI), Maintenance Excellence (ME), Quality Excellence (QE), Supply Chain Flow (SCF), and Zero Loss Analysis, (ZLA). 

Functions as the subject matter expert responsible for driving highly technical, cross-functional processes and initiatives that have a significant impact on the business. Provides detailed business analysis to develop strategies to satisfy business objectives. Serves as the technical liaison offering recommendations/proposals in successfully carrying out organizational initiatives.

This position is based in Anacortes, WA.

 

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to Trident Performance System, TPS Leader-VA/International

Indirectly supervised by Plant Managers throughout the domestic organization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop TPM strategy and capabilities.
  • Plan, lead, and drive TPM implementation initiatives by partnering with other stakeholders to drive standardization and improve results.
  • Create and manage the TPM metric reporting for each of the sites this role supports and tracks milestones.
  • Provides department leaders, business unit leaders, and executive leadership team members with recommendations on TPM processes and implementation.
  • Develops programs to drive a team-based and data-driven culture across multiple sites.
  • Provide technical leadership and partner with Operations & Maintenance to effect improvement on production lines/equipment.
  • Participate in the development of strategies and in guidance of the operations to achieve objectives through loss elimination, technical capability building, and job efficiency with high team engagement.
  • Provides leaders with decision-making frameworks, analytic guidance, and business judgment to drive high-level projects.
  • Analyzes complex processes and business requirements to determine operational feasibility.
  • Evaluates underlying operational risks; leads the development and implementation of viable plans to mitigate risks.
  • Ensures achievement of project goals, project objectives, and project timelines.
  • Provides technical leadership and business expertise to subordinates and peers on complex projects
  • Acts to direct and evaluate project issues and recommending appropriate business solutions.
  • Develops, coaches, and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.
  • Lead and mentor lean/six sigma projects to drive OEE and yield improvement
  • Lead and implement a daily management system

Minimum Requirements

 

Requirements, Minimum Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Engineering)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience deploying TPM Pillars in a plant environment
  • Lean Six Sigma DMAIC (Minimum Green Belt) and/or Lean required
  • Experience in the Food Industry preferred

Special Training/Skills:

  • Ability to write routine reports & correspondence, speak effectively before groups of employees and senior management of the organization.  Use of standard business software required, skills in  Minitab or other statistical software is beneficial.
  • Must be able to work independently and coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments.
  •  Analytical skills and detail-oriented.
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Leadership and capacity to make decisions.
  •  Strong problem-solving skills.
  •  PC experience including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab

Work Environment:

  • Varied from loud, wet factory environments, requiring the use of PPE, to offices & conference rooms.
  • Travel will be required, including international travel, and travel to remote locations is required at times (appx 50%).  Most travel is planned, project-based.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Work in factories requires the ability to climb stairs, ladders, walk significant distances (200 meters), don and doff PPE.
