Summary: The FSQA Manager – AK Shoreplant will plan, coordinate and direct the food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) program for assigned location(s) in order to ensure safety and quality of products consistent with established company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish site specific FSQA objectives and protocols in accordance with Trident program standards.
  • Train and oversee site personnel to ensure adherence to department protocols.
  • Implement and oversee product inspection and environmental testing programs across all process and product types.
  • Review data collected by FSQA staff to ensure site activities comply with Trident specifications.
  • Identify non-conformities to standards or specifications and develops corrective actions to effectively correct.
  • Assist with various internal and external audits and develops and implements corrective actions to address any adverse findings.
  • Ensure FSQA team completes daily logs and FSQA reports according to protocol.
  • Communicate significant non-conformities or other issues to site management and Support Center FSQA team.
  • Prepare and present reports as requested.
  • Maintain current knowledge of government and industry FSQA codes and standards (GFSI, BRC, HACCP, ADEC, USDC, and others) and ensures compliance.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions 
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
  • Oversee and maintain Kosher status of products as applicable.
  • Maintain site recall program.

Minimum Requirements




  • A minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in the Quality Assurance field, preferably in food production or seafood industry.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate basic math figures including decimals, percentages, addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.


  • Associate Degree or higher in a related field preferred. Working knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) schemes including BRCGS, SQF, etc. 

Work Environment:

  • This is a remote-location position requiring onsite seasonal work at one or more of Trident’s Alaska processing facilities.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
