Description
Summary: The Alaska HR Coordinator is an essential partner to our Alaska Operations teams and under the general direction of the Alaska HR Manager, provides HR support to one or more plant locations throughout Alaska.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides HR administrative support to the HR Manager and operations teams, including administering company policies, procedures and programs.
- Assists with the internal hiring process by posting, recruiting and selecting employees to fill vacant positions along with the appropriate supervisor.
- Conducts employee onboarding and assists management with monitoring performance according to Trident standards.
- Keeps records and completes employment related forms, and documentation including separation forms and related documentation, conducts exit interviews as appropriate.
- Assists HR Manager with resolution of employee performance issues and may assist supervisors with providing counseling to employees.
- Reviews and tracks leaves of absence and requests for accommodation and insures compliance with ADA. Involves worker’s comp team and/or appropriate level of leadership as necessary.
- Assists with the employee performance review program to ensure compliance with Trident procedures and equity within the organization.
- Travel and/or reassignment to other plants may be required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
- Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
- A minimum of two years’ experience working one or more functional areas of Human Resources is preferred.
Education:
AA degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A combination of education and directly related experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Special Training & Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
