Description
SUMMARY
The IT Technician - Engineering supports and troubleshoots local area computer network activities by ensuring the smooth running of Wintel, network and storage system environments and performs other IT projects as directed by corporate IT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers.
- Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security; and trains users on software and equipment usage.
- Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
- Communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data.
- Communicates with corporate IT to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.
- Installs and tests software upgrades.
- Collects and analyzes network and memory utilization.
- Upgrades and applies OS Service Packs and Hotfixes.
- Responds to system alerts.
- Consults with IT Services Manager and IT Factory Systems Manager
- Automated factory networked equipment.
- Provides after hours escalation support.
- Travels to Alaska and works in a 90 day on, 20 day off rotation.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years of experience in network and systems support.

- Microsoft Active Directory

- Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSE)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Windows Server Administration
- Virtual Server Administration
