Description
Summary: The EHS Manager is responsible for protecting Trident’s employees and assets by partnering with the operational team at assigned site(s) in order to execute Trident EHS policies and procedures and ensure compliance to all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance and oversight to plant safety and environmental teams to ensure compliance to all applicable Trident Safety and Environmental policies and programs.
- Champions the development, education and maintenance of a Safety Culture.
- Coordinates, facilitates and/or conducts training for facility personnel according to Trident protocols.
- Partners with Support Center teams to ensure compliance to all environmental and safety regulations.
- Ensures safety record keeping and data integrity and provides accurate reporting and metrics as requested.
- Oversees incident investigations and reporting to ensure adherence to Trident procedures.
- Reviews safety incidents, metrics and trends and allocates resources as appropriate to address higher risk areas.
- Evaluates site safety and environmental conditions and operations in order to assess risk.
- Proposes action plans to Operations and Support Center EHS teams to address areas of higher risk.
- Conducts regular internal audits to ensure that training and record keeping are accurate and consistent.
- Ensures site leadership and employees are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under policies and procedures.
- Helps implement and enforce the Trident Performance System and other Trident programs.
- Prepares assigned site(s) for OSHA VPP accreditation.
- Participates in strategic planning as requested, cascades goals to teams.
- Manages and monitors the performance of assigned teams to ensure they meet required standards and KPI’s.
- Works with HR and local management to resolve personnel and performance issues and determine the appropriate course of action.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
- May supervise and oversee other departments and/or programs as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ safety and environmental experience with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental or related field preferred.
Qualifications:
HAZWOPER certification is required. Working knowledge of all applicable local, regional, and federal requirements. Ability to build trust and confidence with site management and employees. Effective communication both written and verbal.
