Summary:

Trident Seafoods is seeking a motivated Tax & Treasury Analyst to join our expanding team.  This person would be responsible for supporting the Tax Sr. Analyst and the Treasury Sr. Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop professionally within North America’s largest global seafood company. The Tax & Treasury Analyst will be responsible for Corporate Tax and Treasury functions including federal, state and local income tax return compliance, monthly sales and use tax reporting, property tax filings, detailed tax research, treasury reporting/reconciliation, daily cash reporting and various ad hoc projects.  The ideal candidate will have a strong intellectual curiosity and drive to learn new skills.

Tax Functions:

  • Prepare federal and state corporate income tax workpapers
  • Preparation of various sales and use taxes, excise taxes, and property tax filings
  • Perform tax research on federal and state tax issues as requested
  • Perform routine monthly and quarterly procedures including account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, account analysis and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing the Company's quarterly tax estimates.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects

Treasury Functions:

  • Review and assist in the daily and month-end treasury activities, including bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide daily cash activity reports to management
  • Verify daily cash receipts and reports from credit department, to bank statements.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
  • Assists co-workers and customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services.

Minimum Requirements

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Working towards CPA or related licensure
  • 1-2 years of experience in tax, internal audit or accounting
  • Experience working within an ERP system is preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel with an eye for workpaper automation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment and the ability to work with flexibility, efficiency and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in positions requiring communication with a broad and diverse audience
