Description
Summary: The Factory Technician Assistant will repair, adjust and maintain seafood processing machinery and related equipment in a shore plant production facility, including pumps, motors, conveyors, gears, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment, heading, gutting, fillet and mince machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance and repair requirements on motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, and production machines as directed.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and applying precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
- Performs routine daily maintenance and adjustments to equipment as required to meet production goal and requests.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and Qualifications:
High school degree or GED. Basic mechanical ability.
Preferred Training and Skills: Degree or certificate form a college or technical school in a related discipline. Mechanical knowledge/experience in Seafood manufacturing preferred.
