JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

The Logistics Support Coordinator acts as liaison between Documentation & Logistics Specialists, Freight Forwarders, Salespeople and Planning to track ocean booking timeline history and to troubleshoot shipment date related data.  Contributes updates to Traffic Management System data, provides oversight regarding ERP order dates and their impacts. This role primarily involves export transfers and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and tracks ocean booking request date and evaluates timeline of booking confirmation, revisions, delays, cause of delay and impacts to sales and inventory movement.
  • Works closely with Documentation & Logistics Specialists as they create ocean bookings to capture current data and perform updates as needed.
  • Collaborates with Freight Forwarders as ocean bookings are confirmed with carriers, monitors booking revisions and drives follow up in ERP.
  • Works with stakeholders to find solutions when ocean booking is not available on desired timeline or shipping path.
  • Performs TMS booking confirmations, updates, and revisions to ensure that correct booking dates and status are captured in E2OpenTraffic Management System.
  • Contributes to evolution of procedure related to essential function.
  • Fields contact from external and internal customers, salespeople, freight forwarders, carriers. Problem solves as necessary to research, resolve and address concerns.
  • Uses critical thinking and communication skills to expedite solutions among various parties involved in related Sales and Inventory system processes, Traffic systems and processes.
  • Contributes to inbound shipment distribution and accurate follow up.  Works directly with manufacturing plant(s) as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • As time permits, participates in sales support related to US sales and related order to cash activities.
  • Supports timely order processing by finalizing sales and transfer orders.
  • Contributes to organized file system, supports paperless information retention.
  • Participates in coverage for and training of other team members as needed.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized individual, able to drive domestic transactions as well as complex export transactions; while providing timely customer and sales support updates.
  • Fluency in SAP a plus.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills required.
  • Agility in adjusting to evolving business objectives required.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure and meet deadlines amid competing demands.
  • Strong customer service skills required, with ability to clearly and efficiently coordinate with internal and external service providers.
