Summary

The Project Manager will lead Trident’s project implementation teams through the full project life-cycle of assigned projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, execution, risk management, communications, project budget, and financial controls of entire or assigned aspects of projects across a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the completion of assigned project activities and milestones according to schedule, budget and within quality standards, while maintaining good partner, customer, and vendor relationships in accordance with Trident Seafood’s Core Values.
  • Monitors, enforces, and maintains job safety for the project by supporting and participating in all safety programs, ensures all team members are using required safety equipment, and continually monitors the job site to ensure safety requirements are met in accordance with Trident Seafoods safety policies.
  • Monitors, reviews, and controls project costs to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established goals.
  • Provides project status and financial updates to the project steering committee on a regular basis.  Reports significant deviations from the budget to the project on a timely basis.
  • Develops and maintains key performance indicators in conjunction with the team to monitor and measure project results and effectiveness.
  • Develops, coordinates, and manages project planning and scheduling to ensure that deliverables are consistent with the required scope of the project.
  • Manages vendor partners as needed, to ensure their work is being performed according to the schedule, budget, and set expectations.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the project team members on assigned activities to optimize team effectiveness.
  • Ensures all regulatory requirements are met including federal, state and local requirements for permitting, environmental impacts, worksite safety, etc.
  • Communicates with members of the Trident steering committee and with the stakeholders at each respective operation during their specific implementation period, concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of physical inventories and other site preparation activities prior to and throughout implementation.
  • Performs project administration duties that include managing billing, consultant and supplier payments, and optimizing opportunities for waste and cash management.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ project or program management.
  • EAM experience with several full cycle implementations.  Infor experience a plus.
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries e.g. fishing, seafood/food manufacturing a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory management, procurement, asset maintenance program, transportation, and warehousing processes focused on Alaskan operations is a plus.

Education/Certifications:

  • BA/BS in engineering/supply chain management or applicable industry experience
  • Project Management certification (PMI) and demonstrated core project management skills
  • Problem Solving and Improvement certifications or continuous education
  • Courses in Six Sigma, Lean, Risk Management, Problem Solving a plus

  • Proficient with project management approaches, tools, and techniques

Required:

  • Proven track record for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Will be required to work on plant and operation sites.
  • Travel could exceed 75% during the project.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships and communicate successfully with people at all levels of management; exhibit excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, ability to work independently, and be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
